Murs Vs. Yelawolf
I’m going to skip songs for this one. The two are both kind of “underground,” so I encourage you all to got listen for ya’ self ya dig.
Intangibles:
Well, let’s begin with Murs. Murs has a good relation with producer 9th Wonder. 9th is a credible producer and has made a lot of people’s careers. Now Yelawolf on the other hand is now on Shady Records. That means he has access to Eminem, Slaughterhouse, and possible Dre and 50.
The edge: Yelawolf
Lyrics/Delivery/Flow/Voice/etc:
Yealwolf’s flow is dynamic; that boy can flow fast or medium paced. His song content is varied as well, ranging whip music to women to being hard. It’s also easy to recognize his voice. His deliver is a bit altered because of his dialect, but it’s still easy to understand.
Murs’ deliver is clear and direct. I wouldn’t exactly say his voice is unique though; he could blend end with any generic black rapper. What I think makes Murs standout is the topics of his songs and his lyrics. Most of Murs’ songs are positive in nature, which is very rare in rap these days.
The edge: Murs
My Thoughts:
Murs has been around for a long long time and has released a lot of stuff (both by himself and collaboratively). I think this give him a bit of an edge. Sooo…
The Winner: Murs
