Megaman 8

The other day I was on Youtube just looking up some stuff, and I ran across some Megaman video game reviews. Back in the day, I used to be a BIG Megaman fan. My favorite game out of the series (the original series anyway) had to be Megaman 8.

One of the things that I remember about that game is the music. Now, Megaman has always had great music, but Megaman 8 had some AMAZING tracks on it. Heck, even the intro-stage’s music was bagging.

The graphics were on point for the time as well. To be honest, that old 8-Bit Megaman hurt the eyes. But the 32-Bit Megaman was fresh, styling’, etc.

So, here is the plot, taken from Wikipedia:

Mega Man 8 is a continuation of the original Mega Man series storyline. Cutscenes in the game are presented both in-game and with newly introduced anime-style FMVs. Like other games in the series, it takes place in an unspecified year during the 21st century (20XX). The game opens as two alien robots engage in a climactic battle in the depths of space. Ultimately both of them plummet towards Earth, critically injured. Meanwhile, Mega Man and his canine companion Rush are called by Dr. Light to investigate strange energy readings on a nearby island. On the island, Mega Man finds Dr. Wily flying away with a strange purple orb. Before chasing him, he sees a damaged robot and asks for Dr. Light to pick it up and try to repair it. Dr. Wily then releases four new Robot Masters to combat Mega Man, Frost Man, Tengu Man, Clown Man, and Grenade Man. Each time he destroys one, the robotic hero receives a purple orb like the one Dr. Wily confiscated. Each of the Robot Masters are empowered with a strange energy, and it seems that this power comes from the new energy cores that Wily has infused them with.

After Mega Man defeats all four, he returns to the lab and Dr. Light tells him that the robot he found should be fine if he rests for a while. After Dr. Light and Mega Man leave the lab, the robot awakens, sees the purple energy, becomes enraged, and flies off into the distance. Mega Man follows suit on Rush. Mega Man finds him in a mine shaft on the other side of the globe, and after battling the robot, Proto Man shows up and tells Mega Man that Dr. Wily’s new fortress, “Wily Tower,” is just ahead. Mega Man goes ahead, but is captured by one of Wily’s giant robotic creations. The robot saves him, introduces himself as Duo, and reveals his purpose to Mega Man. Duo explains that the purple orbs are “Evil Energy,” and he has been traveling the universe tracking down this energy and trying to destroy it before it engulfs the entire world. However, Wily Tower has a barrier around it that prevents him from taking out the source. Duo tells Mega Man to destroy the four other Robot Masters that hold the key to the barrier, Astro Man, Sword Man, Search Man, and Aqua Man, while he collects and extinguishes the rest of the world’s Evil Energy.

Once the Robot Masters have been beaten, Wily Tower’s barrier is lifted and Mega Man makes his way through it, defeating the hordes of robotic henchmen inside, including his rival Bass, and ultimately, the evil doctor himself. The “Evil Energy” is destroyed before it is allowed to spread throughout the world, and Wily’s newest compound is demolished with Mega Man inside, who is infected by the Evil Energy.Duo arrives, examines Mega Man, and cures him of the Evil Energy, seemingly eradicating the last of the Evil Energy on Earth.

Megaman 8 was released on Sega Saturn and Playstation. So if you got a PS3, I think you can still play it.

Anyway, that’s enough for today, I’ll come back with more thoughts later. Peace!

Maverick

Last week I told you to go over to The Wrath and get in on the zombie goodness.

To encourage yaw, I’m going to post the bio of my character:

Name: Maverick Williams

Height: 5’9’’

Weight: 230lbs

Age: 46

D.O.B.: August 14, 1965

Infected: No

Bio/Backstory:

Maverick Williams had a rough upbringing. He grew up in New Mexico. The Lopez family has also well below the poverty line for most of Maverick’s adolescence. Growing up in a household with seven siblings, Maverick was generally thought to the “wild” child. Being the second oldest, he used to pick on and bully his young brothers and sisters.

In an attempt to straighten himself out, Maverick joined the Army ROTC at the age of 18. He excelled and rose to the top of his class. After graduating from the ROTC, he went straight into the Army. He shipped straight off into deployment.

On one of his stints home, he met a pretty young thing name Maria Chavez. The two began dating. Maria’s father had retired from the Navy, so she knew about and was accustomed to the military life. Maverick and Maria eventually exchanged their vows and got married.

Shortly after marrying Maria, Maverick received a recruitment letter from the U.S. Delta Force; Maria encouraged him to go through the training. Maverick went through the process and was accepted into the Delta Force.

After working in the Delta Force for a number of years, Maverick rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class. He became the commanding officer of a small four man team, specializing in recon and first contact.

13 months ago, Maria became pregnant with Maverick’s daughter, Ariana. The pregnancy went well, but four months afterwards, Ariana began to experience breathing complications. Maverick was granted a small leave so that he could be with his wife and child.

The outbreak began on the same day as Ariana’s doctor appointment; Maverick had arrived home the night before. Maverick woke up around at 10 a.m. and turned on the news. What he saw on the news was complete chaos. He ran to his window and looked outside. He spotted people running away in terror. Outside the gates of his house he saw two “undead” clamoring to get in. Maverick ran to his closet, where he kept his personal gun collection. Grabbing his M4 and two mags, Maverick went back to his place at the window. Maverick opened up the window and took aim. He fired two shot to the chest at each zombie; the bullets stunned them, but they didn’t fall. Taking what he had learned from the movies, Maverick lined up two headshots, dropping the zombies.

He then packed his bags so that he could go out and search for his wife. He took his M4 and his sniper rifle with him, along wife his sidearm and a bag full of ammo.

Maverick drove straight to the hospital, but find that the building was up in flames. In the parking lot he spotted Maria’s car, and inside found his family dead—a bullet to the head of his wife and child.

Zombies!!! Fool

Hey,this is going to be a real small post.

But, I just wanted to share this site with everyone. It’s basically a zombie outbreak role-playing game. My friend runs it; its call The Wrath.

So, all one has to do is created a character and then you write about their adventures during the outbreak–no requirements, no judging. It’s just a way to write and have some fun.

Funny, or Bad Morals?

So yesterday in one of my classes we were talking about video games. One of the presenters for the day showed us this video.

For those who don’t know, this game is World of Warcraft.

Now, let me give you the background of this story. So, there was a girl who had passed away, and this girl was a really big WoW player. So her friends and her guild held a memorial service in the game to commemorate her death. Now, on the particular server that the service was held on, there was this real arrogant guild. This group got enjoyment from jerks to everyone. So, what they did was, they sent a covert agent into service while the rest of the group was hiding nearby.

Once the guy gave the signal, his guild came out and killed everyone.

Now, the question that we were asked was if the situation was funny or immoral (by the way, this event happened a while ago).

I was quiet during discussion, mostly because I couldn’t pick a side. On one hand, the action was very disrespectful. I mean, a real woman did die. A lot of people don’t understand, but, you do make close friends when you play MMORPG games.

Then again, that action was ingenious. They used covert tactics, deception, etc. In any other situation, these tactics would probably be praised.

Soooo, was it morally wrong?

That’s just something to think about.

Efed Return Video

A while back I told you all that I was into efedding.

For those who don’t know, efedding is game in which people write stories. A handler will create a professional wrestler, and write stories about his or her life/ring experiences. The person with the best story will win the match. There are even titles to be won (depending on the federation you join).

I’ve been efedding for almost five years now. But, recently, I had to take a break. Senior yr of college was kicking my behind.

But, my character is returning in a couple of weeks. So, I made this video, to kind of hint at my return.

Also, I’d like to explain the song, just in case anyone was wondering. My main character’s brother just died; he was hit by a drunk driver. So, the song kind of relates to my character’s feelings about everything. By the way, his name is Flex Johnson.

The song is “Life’s a B****” by Elzhi ft. Royce Da 59.

Angry Birds Java Version

So, I’ve got the Java version of Angry Birds.

I must say, It’s NOT as good. Now, I know what you are going to ask, “why you no have real game?”

Well, I’ve got a a Motorola ex126, which is a decent touch-screen. But, it’s not an android. Now, this Java version is a bit slow. And it’s kind of cheap, because you get an unlimited number of birds. I want a challenge darn it!

So, I’m just want to let yaw know to stay away from the Java version unless you really NEED to play some Angry Birds. Go play it on Google Chrome.

XDF Wrestling videos

Hey, hows everyone doing. I’ve mentioned efedding many times. This time I just wanted to show a few videos of our wrestlers. The owner of the company made them. Now, some of our people use WWE and TNA bases, but we in no way own them. So, please enjoy.

“I can’t believe it’s not real wrestling” Efedding Politics

Well, I have been efedding for about four years now. For those who don’t know, “efedding” is a type of role-playing. Each person takes a wrestler, either real or created, and puts them into different scenarios. Then, the person with the better story wins the match.

However, just like it’s real life counter-part, efedding has it’s share of scandals. Lets take “politics” for example.

Efedding is full of politics. I’ve seen companies fall apart because staff problems. I’ve seen people lose matches based on biased votes. And, I’ve heard a lot of things for former staff members.

Now, I try to stay away from efedding scandal, but sometimes its comes to you. For example, I once worked for a company, and I was thrown into a main event for the World Title. Now, I’ll explain something vital to you. Although I’m a journalist and a writer, no match is a given win. Rarely do I ever feel that I’ve murdered an opponent.

This match, however, was a different matter. I out role=played my opponent. I knew it, and most of the roster felt that way too. I had 10 year efed veterans comes up to me, telling me that I dominated in my match.

But what was the result? Well, I didn’t win the title. It was speculated that mangment wanted my opp0nent to be champ instead of me. I always wondered if this was true. From the evidence, it sure seemed like it. All I can say is this though, my opponent only held that one title in the company. I however held two other titles after losing the match, one for record breaking time.

Another incident occurred right I and my tag partner won the tag team titles. The team we had defeated had held the titles for 161 days. Both sides wrote excellent role-plays, but we came out on top. However, he is where things get funky. One of the members the team was part of the staff. Hmm, staff member holding a title for 161 days? Maybe a little sketchy?

Anyway, another staff contacted to congratulate me on my win. While we chatting, he mentioned that my opponent had a threw a fit after the lose. Allegedly, they went to the own of the company and complained about the lose, even though my partner and I won fair and square.

Oh, and let’s not forget about their rematch. In the company rules, it clearly stated that role-plays could not involve a management character in anyway. Our opponents deliberately broke this rule, and were still awarded the win.

Little did anyone know that, after that incident, there was a large exodus from the company. People began to get mad of the shadiness and left. But I’ll tell that whole story another time.

The point  I’m trying to make is, efedding is suppose to be about writing and having fun. When practices in real wrestling move into a simulated wrestling game, then there is a problem.

Another Look at Maple Story

In my last post I talked about a Maple Story incident. And, because the incident, I think some readers might have been turned off to the game. So, I decided to go back and play it a bit. That way, I can tell you about some of its positives.

First off, Maple Story is free to play. The company only makes you pay if you want to buy special. custom items. Now, Maple Story is a little different than most other RPG’s. Maple plays more like a side-scroller/platformer. Think Mario with RPG elements. This style actually works better than many RPG’s in my opinion.

The game is a good time waster. You could spend a good hour or two just hopping around fighting things. The wrold is fairly large, so there is lots of stuff to explore. Nonetheless, once your character reaches a certian level, there is a little bit of a grind. Personal, when the grind got to me, I just took a break, and then returned back to the game later.

I tried some other free online RPG’s, and Maple Story is one of the few that always brings you back. So, on that day that youhave nothing to do, give Maple a try.

Maple Story

While on Yahoo, i came across an interesting story. I’ll post a link at the bottom. Anyway, the article talks about a online RPG called Maple Story. Well, I used to play Maple, so I continued to read. So, this article talks about two Maple players in Japan.

Now, I feel I should talk about Maple Story a little, so you will have some background information. So, Maple Story is a free to play, online RPG. Therefore, you create a character, and take him through this fantasy world. You can customize your character pretty well, you can change their skin color (most rpgs don’t allow this), hair, and clothes. Once your character is done, you be throwin into quests and fighting monsters. You can choose a class, which determines how you fight.

There’s also another aspect of the game that most other rpg’s don’t have, and that is the ability to get married to another player.

So these are the basics of the game. Anyway,so, a woman logs on to her account, and finds out that she has been divroced by her in-game husband. What does she do about that? She decided to hack into his account and, according to the article, ”kill” his character. Now, in the game, you can only truely kill monsters. If you die while battling, you are just warped to the nearst town. So I’m just guessing that this woman deleted his character. Nonetheless, she might “if convicted could face a prison term of up to five years or a fine up to $5,000.”

I just found that interesting. Now remember, a lot Asian countries take their online RPGs very seriously. So in the U.S. this probably found happen. In fact, the lady probably would have just got a ban from the game. So check out the full article yourself.
